Layered task and ambient light — under-cabinet, pendants, and pot lights on considered circuits.

Lighting is the cheapest thing to get right in a kitchen and the most expensive to get wrong after the drywall closes. We plan it in layers: task light where you actually cut and cook, ambient light for the room, and accent light that makes stone and millwork read the way they did in the showroom.

Under-cabinet LED runs are wired, not plugged; pendants over the island are centred on the island, not on the old junction box; pot lights are spaced for even coverage instead of a builder grid. Dimmers on separate zones let the same kitchen work for prep at 7am and dinner at 9pm.

On the electrical side we bring kitchens up to what modern appliances actually demand: dedicated circuits for the range, microwave, and dishwasher, counter outlets to code, and panel work where an older Toronto house needs capacity. Everything is permitted and ESA-inspected.

Frequently asked questions

How many pot lights does a kitchen need?
A typical Toronto kitchen takes 6–10 four-inch pot lights spaced roughly 4 feet apart, plus task and pendant layers. We produce a lighting plan before any holes are cut.
Can you add an outlet or circuit to my kitchen island?
Yes — islands with seating are required by code to have receptacles, and we routinely run power during flooring or island work.
Is your electrical work inspected?
All electrical work is performed under permit and inspected by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA). You receive the certificate for your records.
