Custom Kitchen Islands

Seating, storage, prep space, and power — an island shaped around how your household actually gathers.

The island is where kitchens actually happen: homework, coffee, prep, and the guests who never leave the kitchen anyway. A good one is sized to the room — enough landing space around it to open the dishwasher and still walk past — and built to work as hard as the perimeter.

We design islands with real seating overhangs, storage on both faces, and the services that make them useful: a prep sink where it saves steps, pop-up power for small appliances, a beverage fridge where the kids can reach it. Waterfall stone ends, panel-ready appliances, and a counter material chosen for the way you will treat it.

Not every kitchen should have an island — in tighter Toronto rooms a peninsula or a proper work table often serves better, and we will tell you which one your floor plan wants.

Frequently asked questions

How big does a kitchen need to be for an island?
You need roughly 1 metre of clearance on the working sides. As a rule of thumb, an island starts making sense in kitchens about 3.5 m wide and up — below that, a peninsula usually works better.
How much does a custom island cost?
A custom island with stone and storage typically runs $4,000–$12,000 depending on size, services (sink, power), and materials.
Can you add an island to my existing kitchen?
Often yes — we check floor structure, clearances, and where plumbing and electrical can be routed, then build the island to match or contrast your existing cabinetry.
